Mera Yuva Bharat: Digital Pathway Turning Youth Power into Nation-Building Force

Marking two years since its launch on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) has moved from a youth platform to a full-scale digital ecosystem shaping India’s future participation and leadership culture. At the foundation-stone ceremony of the MY Bharat phase-up, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the initiative reflects a vision where young people are not just beneficiaries but direct contributors to national progress and unity. He stated that it is designed to “empower youth with opportunities to learn, lead, and serve the nation through technology-driven participation.”

When MY Bharat was launched in 2023, it responded to a major gap: traditional youth programs were scattered and often limited to certain geographies or institutions. Young people needed a unified channel where learning, volunteering, and leadership opportunities could be accessed without barriers. Today, over 2 crore youth and 1.2 lakh organizations are connected under one system, making it India’s biggest digital youth engagement mechanism. It bridges rural-urban differences with a phygital model, ensuring young citizens from cities, villages, and aspirational districts can participate equally.

In its current phase, MY Bharat functions as a real-time platform for volunteering, skilling, mentorship, and experiential learning. Over 14.5 lakh volunteering opportunities have already been listed, linking youth with government programs, private partners, and civil society missions. The launch of the MY Bharat mobile app in October 2025 has further made engagement mobile-first, integrating AI chatbots, smart CV builders, multilingual access, and voice support. Digital participation is supported physically through Common Service Centres across the country so that youth without personal digital access are not left behind.

More than a learning platform, MY Bharat is creating a participation culture where young people take active roles in community and national development. From climate awareness activities to education and fitness campaigns, initiatives run through MY Bharat are turning youth energy into measurable impact. Youth clubs, institutions, and corporate partners are contributing to projects that improve local services, promote social responsibility, and strengthen the spirit of civic duty.

MoUs with Digital India Corporation under MeitY and the School of Ultimate Leadership Foundation have strengthened MY Bharat’s next phase. With MY Bharat 2.0, the platform is set to introduce advanced AI-based skill mapping, mentorship networks, leadership programs, entrepreneurship guidance, and employment linkages. These collaborations will support training one lakh youth leaders and introduce tools that help build verified digital profiles and recognized participation badges, useful for jobs and higher studies.

As the nation looks toward Viksit Bharat 2047, MY Bharat is preparing the groundwork by placing youth at the center of nation-building. Upcoming integrations with National Career Service, DigiLocker, UMANG, and the Digital India Stack will bring employment services, certification, and mobility onto one platform. This convergence aims to build a generation that is skilled, connected, accountable, and confident in taking leadership roles.

The journey ahead focuses on expanding opportunities, making career support more accessible, and strengthening the culture of contribution. With technology as its backbone and youth participation as its goal, MY Bharat is positioning India’s young citizens not only as recipients of development but also as architects shaping a stronger, more inclusive, and future-ready nation.
