The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has announced that the national function marking Constitution Day 2025 will take place in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan at 11 AM on Wednesday, 26 November. The event will celebrate India’s commitment to constitutional values and democratic traditions.
The President of India will preside over the ceremony, which will be attended by the Vice-President, Prime Minister, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Union Ministers and Members of Parliament from both Houses. The Speaker and Vice-President are scheduled to address the gathering, followed by the President’s address.
As part of this year’s observance, several digital releases are planned during the Central Hall event. These include the launch of the Constitution of India in nine additional languages—Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Punjabi, Bodo, Kashmiri, Telugu, Odia and Assamese—prepared by the Legislative Department. A commemorative booklet titled “भारत की संविधान से कला और कैलीग्राफी”, prepared by the Ministry of Culture, will also be released. The ceremony will feature the Reading of the Preamble, led by the President.
Constitution Day activities will be organised nationwide by all Union Ministries, Departments, State and UT Governments, local bodies and subordinate offices. Citizens will participate in various digital initiatives, including online Preamble reading on MyGov.in and Constitution75.com, generation of participation certificates and social media sharing. A national online quiz and blog or essay competitions under the theme “Hamara Samvidhan – Hamara Swabhiman” will also be open to the public.
Educational institutions and government bodies across the country will host conferences, seminars, debates, exhibitions, short films, cultural programmes and creative competitions such as poster-making, rangoli and painting. Constitution-themed activities will be carried out from the Panchayat level to Parliament.
