Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi on official visit to U.S. to strengthen maritime ties

Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi is on an official visit to the United States from November 12 to 17, as part of efforts to further strengthen the growing maritime partnership between the Indian Navy and the U.S. Navy – a key component of the India-U.S. Defence Partnership.

During his visit, Admiral Tripathi is scheduled to hold discussions with senior officials of the U.S. Department of War, and meet Admiral Samuel J. Paparo, Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), and Admiral Stephen T. Koehler, Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet (USPACFLT), along with other senior naval leaders and dignitaries.

The talks will focus on reviewing ongoing maritime cooperation, enhancing operational-level linkages, and strengthening mechanisms for information sharing and maritime domain awareness between the two navies.

Admiral Tripathi will also visit key U.S. naval institutions and operational commands, where discussions are expected to centre on shared maritime priorities in the Indo-Pacific, collaboration under multilateral frameworks such as MILAN, and participation in Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) initiatives.

India and the United States share a long-standing maritime partnership based on mutual trust and shared values. The Navy Chief’s visit underscores India’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the U.S. Navy in pursuit of a free, open, inclusive, and rules-based Indo-Pacific region.
