Piyush Goyal to visit Israel for high-level talks on trade, technology and investment

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will embark on a three-day official visit to Israel from November 20 to 22, at the invitation of Israel’s Minister of Economy and Industry, Nir Barkat. The visit highlights the deepening strategic and economic partnership between the two nations, with a focus on boosting cooperation in trade, innovation, technology and investment.

Goyal will be accompanied by a high-powered 60-member business delegation representing CII, FICCI, Assocham and Start-up India, underlining India’s intent to expand commercial engagement with Israel.

During his tour, Goyal will hold bilateral meetings with senior leadership in Israel, including his counterpart Barkat and other key ministers. The discussions are expected to cover strengthening trade and investment ties and enhancing cooperation in areas such as agriculture, water management, defence, emerging technologies, life sciences, infrastructure and advanced manufacturing. Both sides are also likely to review progress on the proposed India–Israel Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

A major highlight of the visit will be the India-Israel Business Forum, bringing together leading business associations and industry representatives from both countries. The forum will feature plenary sessions, sectoral discussions and structured B2B interactions aimed at expanding partnerships, promoting investment and exploring opportunities for joint ventures in priority sectors. The fourth edition of the high-level CEOs Forum will also be convened, with participation from prominent corporate leaders from India and Israel.

Goyal is expected to meet top executives from major Israeli companies working in agriculture, desalination, wastewater management, cyber security, smart mobility and infrastructure. He will also interact with prominent Israeli investors to explore new avenues of collaboration.

Beyond official engagements in Tel Aviv, the Minister will visit key institutions and innovation hubs to gain insights into Israel’s cutting-edge technological ecosystem. His itinerary also includes cultural and community interactions, including meetings with Indian-origin business leaders and the Indian diaspora.
