PM Modi addresses Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav; inaugurates projects worth ₹14,260 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav at Nava Raipur, marking 25 years of the state’s formation. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development and infrastructure projects worth over ₹14,260 crore across key sectors including roads, power, healthcare, and industry.

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said Chhattisgarh is advancing rapidly on the path of development and praised the collective efforts of the people in transforming the state over the past 25 years. “The seed sown by Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government has grown into a flourishing tree of progress,” he said.

Highlighting the transformation of the state’s infrastructure, PM Modi noted that village road networks now span 40,000 km and travel times between major cities have halved. He laid the foundation stone for a new four-lane highway connecting Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand and inaugurated power, energy, and connectivity projects aimed at improving rural and tribal livelihoods.

PM Modi announced new medical colleges, the Nagpur–Jharsuguda gas pipeline, and HPCL’s petroleum depot at Raipur, stressing that these initiatives would boost healthcare access, energy security, and industrial growth. He also inaugurated the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to honouring tribal heritage.

Speaking on the decline of Maoist violence, the Prime Minister said, “That day is not far when Chhattisgarh and our nation will be completely free from Maoist terrorism.” He added that former Naxalites are surrendering in large numbers, and regions once gripped by fear are now witnessing development and celebration.

PM Modi congratulated all beneficiaries of housing and livelihood schemes and urged the youth of Chhattisgarh to play a key role in building a developed India. “This is your time, and there is no goal you cannot achieve,” he said.

The event was attended by Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, and Union Ministers Jual Oram, Durga Das Uikey, and Tokan Sahu, among other dignitaries.
