PM Modi inaugurates new Chhattisgarh Vidhansabha building at Nava Raipur

Prime Minister Modi today inaugurated the new building of the Chhattisgarh Vidhansabha in Nava Raipur, marking a historic milestone in the state’s 25-year journey. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister described the occasion as a “golden beginning” for Chhattisgarh’s development and paid tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, whose vision led to the creation of the state.

PM Modi said, “Today, Chhattisgarh stands at a new pinnacle of its aspirations. This Vidhansabha is not merely a place for lawmaking, but a vibrant centre for shaping the destiny of Chhattisgarh.” He highlighted the state’s progress in embracing both heritage and development and remarked that India is the “Mother of Democracy.”

The Prime Minister also emphasized India’s strides in eradicating Naxalism and Maoist terrorism, noting the transformation of previously conflict-affected regions into areas of peace and development. He recalled his decades-long association with Chhattisgarh and praised the state’s journey from limited resources to a modern, digital, and self-reliant Assembly.

PM Modi highlighted the cultural and historical symbolism embedded in the new Assembly building, including Bastar artwork, messages from Baba Guru Ghasidas ji, and values inspired by Mata Shabari, Sant Kabir, and Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya ji. He called the building a “temple of democracy” where decisions will shape the state’s future.

Paying homage to the Constituent Assembly members from Chhattisgarh, PM Modi underscored the importance of informed, welfare-oriented governance under the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” He also linked the ideals of Lord Shri Ram and the nation-building vision of “Ram to Rashtra” to contemporary governance, stressing inclusive development and public welfare.

The new Chhattisgarh Vidhansabha building follows the Green Building concept, is fully powered by solar energy, and equipped with a rainwater harvesting system.

The event was attended by Governor Ramen Deka, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Union Minister Tokan Sahu, and other dignitaries.

PM Modi concluded by urging all citizens and lawmakers to dedicate themselves to public service and use the new Assembly as a centre to fulfill the aspirations of the people.
