Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday offered prayers at the historic Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, in Patna, Bihar. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri accompanied him during the visit.
PM Modi interacted with devotees at the revered Sikh shrine after offering prayers, describing the experience as deeply spiritual.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “It was a very divine experience to pray at the Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib this evening. The noble teachings of the Sikh Gurus motivate the entire humankind. This Gurudwara has a very close association with Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, whose courage and commitment to justice are greatly inspiring.”
He also shared glimpses from his visit and mentioned having Darshan of the Holy Jore Sahib of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji. “They have come to Patna after the divine Guru Charan Yatra, in which people from all walks of life joined. I urge people to come to Patna and take their Darshan,” he said.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi held a roadshow in Patna following rallies in Arrah and Nawada as part of his Bihar visit. He was accompanied by BJP State President Dilip Jaiswal and Union Minister and JD(U) leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan.
During his visit to the state capital, the Prime Minister also paid floral tributes to the statue of noted Hindi poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar.
