Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the 60th All India Conference of Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police on November 29–30 at the Indian Institute of Management, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Attendees will include the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Ministers of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, DGPs of States and Union Territories, and heads of Central Police Organisations.
The three-day meeting, being held from November 28 to 30, will review progress on major policing challenges and outline a roadmap for strengthening internal security under the national vision of Viksit Bharat. The theme of this year’s conference is “Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions.”
Key topics for discussion include Left Wing Extremism, counterterrorism, disaster management, women’s safety, and the use of forensic science and artificial intelligence in policing. During the event, the Prime Minister will also confer the President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service.
The annual conference serves as a platform for senior police and security officials from across the country to discuss national security issues, operational challenges, infrastructure gaps, welfare concerns, and best practices related to crime prevention, law and order, and internal security.
PM Modi has regularly attended the conference and encouraged open discussions and idea-sharing. The format includes business sessions, breakout interactions, and thematic dining table discussions, enabling officers to present their views directly to the Prime Minister.
Since 2014, the conference has been held at different locations across the country, including Guwahati, the Rann of Kachchh, Hyderabad, Tekanpur, the Statue of Unity, Pune, Lucknow, New Delhi, Jaipur, and Bhubaneswar. This year, Raipur is hosting the 60th edition.
To incorporate new perspectives, selected DIG and SP-rank officers and heads of state home departments will also participate physically in this year’s conference.
