Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on November 15 to review progress on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor and launch a series of development projects in the tribal region of Narmada district.
At around 10 AM, the Prime Minister will visit the under-construction Bullet Train Station in Surat to assess the status of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR). The 508-km corridor covers 352 km in Gujarat and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and 156 km in Maharashtra. It will connect major cities including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, and Mumbai.
According to current progress details, about 326 km of viaducts have been completed out of the total 465 km planned, and 17 of 25 river bridges are ready. The Surat-Bilimora section, covering 47 km, has completed civil works and track-bed laying. The Surat station design is inspired by the city’s diamond industry and will offer waiting lounges, restrooms, retail facilities, and integration with the Surat Metro, city buses, and the Indian Railways network. Once operational, the Bullet Train is expected to reduce Mumbai–Ahmedabad travel time to around two hours.
Later in the day, the Prime Minister will travel to the Narmada district as part of the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas observance. At 12:45 PM, he will visit the Devmogra Temple, followed by participation in a programme in Dediapada at around 2:45 PM marking the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
During the event, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth over ₹9,700 crore, focusing on infrastructure, health, education, and tribal welfare. He will participate in the Grih Pravesh of 1 lakh houses built under PM-JANMAN and DA-JAGUA.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate 42 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) worth about ₹1,900 crore, 228 Multi-Purpose Centres, the Centre of Competence at Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh, and the Tribal Research Institute building in Imphal. Additionally, he will flag off 250 buses for 14 tribal districts of Gujarat.
Foundation stones will be laid for 748 km of new roads in tribal areas, 14 Tribal Multi-Marketing Centres under DA-JAGUA, and 50 new EMRS worth over ₹2,320 crore.
