PM Modi to visit Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu today to participate in a series of events, including the centenary celebrations of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and the inauguration of the South India Natural Farming Summit in Coimbatore.

The Prime Minister will begin his day in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, where he will visit the holy shrine and Mahasamadhi of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba at around 10 am. He will then attend the centenary celebrations of the spiritual leader at 10:30 am. During the programme, PM Modi will release a commemorative coin and a set of postage stamps honouring Sathya Sai Baba’s life, teachings and legacy, and will address the gathering.

Later, the Prime Minister will travel to Coimbatore, to inaugurate the South India Natural Farming Summit at around 1:30 pm. On the occasion, he will also release the 21st instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme, amounting to over ₹18,000 crore, benefiting nine crore farmers across the country. PM Modi is also scheduled to address farmers and delegates at the summit.

The three-day South India Natural Farming Summit, taking place from November 19 to 21, is being organised by the Tamil Nadu Natural Farming Stakeholders Forum. The event aims to promote sustainable, eco-friendly, and chemical-free farming practices, with a focus on accelerating the shift towards natural and regenerative agriculture.

The summit will highlight market linkages for farmer-producer organisations and rural entrepreneurs, and feature innovations in organic inputs, agro-processing, eco-friendly packaging and indigenous agricultural technologies. More than 50,000 participants, including farmers, natural farming practitioners, scientists, and organic input suppliers from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Telangana, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh will attend the summit.
