PM Modi to visit Dehradun on Nov 9 for Uttarakhand’s Silver Jubilee, launch projects worth ₹8,140 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Dehradun on November 9 to participate in the Silver Jubilee celebration marking 25 years of Uttarakhand’s formation. The event will take place at around 12:30 PM, where the Prime Minister will also launch a commemorative postal stamp and address the gathering.

During the visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for multiple development projects worth over ₹8,140 crore. These initiatives span key sectors such as drinking water, irrigation, technical education, energy, urban development, sports, and skill development.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, projects worth ₹930 crore will be inaugurated, while foundation stones will be laid for projects valued at over ₹7,210 crore.

As part of the programme, the Prime Minister will also release ₹62 crore directly into the bank accounts of more than 28,000 farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.

Among the projects to be inaugurated are the Dehradun water supply coverage for 23 zones under the AMRUT scheme, an electrical substation in Pithoragarh district, solar power plants across government buildings, and the new AstroTurf Hockey Ground at Haldwani Stadium in Nainital.

The foundation stones for two major hydro-sector projects will also be laid — the Song Dam Drinking Water Project, which will supply 150 million litres of drinking water per day to Dehradun, and the Jamarani Dam Multipurpose Project in Nainital, aimed at providing drinking water, irrigation support, and electricity generation.

Other upcoming projects include new electrical substations, a Women’s Sports College in Champawat, and a state-of-the-art dairy plant in Nainital.
