Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal, will inaugurate the 18th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference and Exhibition 2025 on November 7 in Gurugram, Haryana. The three-day event, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) through the Institute of Urban Transport (India), is being held in collaboration with the Government of Haryana and Gurugram Metro Rail Ltd.
Themed “Urban Development and Mobility Nexus,” this year’s conference aims to explore integrated planning and sustainable transport solutions to enhance urban mobility across Indian cities.
At the Curtain Raiser event held on Thursday, Jaideep, Officer on Special Duty (Urban Transport), highlighted the conference’s focus on creating equitable and sustainable transport systems aligned with the objectives of the National Urban Transport Policy (NUTP), 2006.
He informed that the event will feature eight technical sessions, eight roundtables, and two plenary sessions, bringing together national and international experts to deliberate on evidence-based policymaking and innovative approaches for sustainable mobility.
Dr. Chander Shekhar Khare, Managing Director of Gurugram Metro Rail Ltd., emphasized that the conference seeks to identify practical and scalable mobility solutions that can reduce travel time and costs for urban residents.
The UMI 2025 Exhibition, an integral part of the conference, will be inaugurated by the Union Minister on November 7 and will remain open for all three days.
