Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed grief over the death of five passengers in a road accident in Tehri Garhwal district on Monday and wished a speedy recovery for those injured.
According to an official statement, the Tehri District Control Room informed the SDRF Battalion Control Room that a bus had fallen nearly 70 metres into a gorge near Kunjapuri–Hindolakhal, under the jurisdiction of Narendra Nagar police station. Acting on the alert, five SDRF teams from Post Dhalwala, Post Koti Colony and the SDRF Battalion Headquarters were rushed to the site under the direction of SDRF Commandant Arpan Yaduvanshi.
Tehri Chief Medical Officer said that 18 people were travelling in the bus. Five occupants lost their lives, while three of the critically injured were referred to AIIMS Rishikesh. Ten others have been admitted to Narendra Nagar hospital for treatment.
The state government has initiated relief and medical support for the victims. The Chief Minister reviewed the situation with district officials and directed them to ensure proper treatment and assistance for the injured.
