Amit Shah pays tribute to freedom fighter Khudiram Bose on his birth anniversary

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday paid tribute to freedom fighter Khudiram Bose on his birth anniversary, describing him as a symbol of courage, sacrifice and unwavering patriotism.

In a post on X, Shah said, “Tribute to the great patriot and immortal martyr Khudiram Bose on his birth anniversary. A symbol of valor, courage, and sacrifice for the motherland, Khudiram Bose organized youth for the independence of Mother India, inspired them to wage armed revolution, and also awakened the countrymen to the cause of Swadeshi. Khudiram, who became an inspiration for countless revolutionaries, was not deterred from the path of revolution by the British regime, and he happily sacrificed his life for the motherland. His heroic saga is an invaluable source of inspiration for every youth to put the nation first.”

Khudiram Bose was born on December 3, 1889, in Habibpur village under Keshpur Police Station in West Bengal’s Midnapore district. Khudiram Bose (18), one of the youngest revolutionaries of the Indian freedom struggle, is remembered for his role in revolutionary activities against British colonial rule. His legacy remains a significant chapter in India’s independence movement. His sacrifice became part of Bengal’s cultural memory, immortalised in the song Ek Baar Bidaye De Ma by poet Pitambar Das.

Amit Shah’s tribute reiterates Khudiram Bose’s enduring legacy as a fearless nationalist whose bravery continues to inspire generations.
