BCCI to announce Team India squad for T20 World Cup 2026 today

India will name their squads for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and next month’s home white-ball series against New Zealand today, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said.

With less than two months to go before the T20 World Cup, the Ajit Agarkar-led senior selection committee will meet at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai to finalise the squad for the global tournament. The selectors will also announce the team for the home series against New Zealand, which comprises three one-day internationals and five Twenty20 internationals.

“The senior men’s selection committee will meet on Saturday to pick India’s squad for the T20I series against New Zealand and the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup,” the BCCI said in a statement, adding that captain Suryakumar Yadav and chief selector Ajit Agarkar will address a press conference later in the day.

India are currently involved in a five-match T20I series against South Africa at home, with the final match scheduled to be played in Ahmedabad on Friday.

New Zealand will tour India from January 11 to 31 as part of India’s final preparation for the T20 World Cup, which begins on February 7 and will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The tournament will feature 20 teams and be played across eight venues over 29 days.

Defending champions India have been placed in Group A alongside the United States, Namibia, the Netherlands and former champions Pakistan. They will open their campaign against the United States in Mumbai.

India won the men’s T20 World Cup in 2007 and are seeking to become the first team to successfully defend the title.
