Create in India Challenge winners to perform at 15th National Street Food Festival in Delhi

Winners of the Create in India Challenge will perform at the 15th National Street Food Festival from December 12 to 14 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting said on Tuesday.

The artists were selected through the ministry’s WAVES platform and its Create in India Challenge programme. They will appear alongside performers including Kailash Kher, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sri Lankan singer Yohani, lyricist and vocalist Amitabh S Verma, and hip-hop artists MC Square and Kullar G.

The three-day cultural event is part of Delhi’s celebrated festival calendar, offering visitors a blend of music and diverse regional cuisine. This year’s edition highlights the creative talent emerging from the Create in India Challenge, with winners from both Battle of Bands and Symphony of India selected to perform live. Band Shivoham, comprising Paddy, Sunny, Ashu and Hitesh, will bring Sufi and Bollywood melodies to the stage.

Chirag Tomar, accompanied by percussionist Sahil Verma, will perform popular Hindi film tracks. Rajasthani folk musician Nishu Sharma will also feature, along with flute artist Nayan Krishna. A band from the Maldives will perform for the first time in India, lending an international note to the festival atmosphere.

Artists nurtured through WAVES and CIC have already performed at major platforms including WAVES, Mumbai, and at global outreach events in Melbourne, the Osaka World Expo and the Toronto International Film Festival. Their presence at the National Street Food Festival marks another stage in their artistic growth, expanding their audience reach within India.

The Create in India Challenge aims to strengthen India’s orange economy by identifying, developing and showcasing creative talent across media and entertainment sectors. Through the WAVES platform, young performers gain opportunities for national visibility as well as international exposure, helping them build sustainable careers in music, film, animation, gaming, VFX, comics, XR, AI and digital media.
