Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar, hosted the valedictory session of a four-week Induction Training Programme for the sixth batch of Enforcement Officers/Accounts Officers of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) on December 26.
The programme was organised jointly by GNLU and the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya National Academy of Social Security (PDUNASS), the National Academy of EPFO, under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. The valedictory session was attended by Rizwan Uddin, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I and Chief Learning Officer (CLO), PDUNASS, and Dr Nitin Malik, Registrar, GNLU.
The induction training programme commenced on December 1, 2025, with 62 Enforcement Officers/Accounts Officers participating. A total of 81 sessions were conducted during the four-week programme, with 121.5 hours of training delivered by 26 resource persons, including experienced EPFO officers. The sessions covered a wide range of subjects such as criminal and civil law, the Evidence Act, constitutional provisions, principles of natural justice, quasi-judicial functions, POSH Act, cyber laws, procurement management, Rajbhasha, contract law, labour laws, new labour codes, professional etiquette, and personal grooming.
On the final day, Rizwan Uddin addressed the trainees in two sessions, explaining the roles and responsibilities of principal employers towards contractual employees through landmark judgments, including HSWCL vs RPFC (Calcutta High Court) and FCI vs RPFC (Delhi High Court). Dr Nitin Malik acknowledged the efforts of Course Coordinator Hardik Parikh and appreciated the discipline and engagement shown by the trainees. The trainee officers also shared their feedback in an open and interactive session, while Parikh presented a detailed report of the 26-day programme.
During the valedictory session, officers were encouraged to utilise the knowledge gained during the training in the national interest. Rizwan Uddin stressed the importance of customer-centric service delivery, deep learning, and responsiveness in EPFO’s functioning. Trainees were sensitised to be decisive, service-oriented, collaborative, and mindful of the critical role of law in government service, with an emphasis on securing optimal benefits for stakeholders in the interest of justice.
Earlier in the day, a special interactive session on “Motivation Through Goal Setting” was organised at the National Institute of Design (NID), Gandhinagar, for postgraduate students. The session focused on discipline, willpower, attitude, belief, coordination, and consistency, and was facilitated by Dr Bhavin Kothari. Rizwan Uddin expressed appreciation for the active participation of the students and their commitment to applying the learnings towards personal and professional goals.
