Government of India Calendar 2026

MoS I&B Dr L Murugan unveils Government of India Calendar 2026

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Dr L Murugan on Wednesday unveiled the Government of India Calendar 2026, describing it as a reflection of India’s transformation and governance priorities on the path towards a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

The theme of the Calendar, “Bharat@2026: Sewa, Sushasan and Samriddhi”, highlights service, good governance and inclusive prosperity. The Minister said the publication goes beyond marking dates and months, serving as a communication tool that mirrors national confidence rooted in people-centric governance, strengthened service delivery and reform-driven growth.

Referring to key reforms undertaken in 2025, Dr Murugan said structural measures have bolstered economic resilience while ensuring inclusive growth. He highlighted initiatives such as tax relief under the new tax regime, GST 2.0 rationalisation, implementation of the four Labour Codes and focused employment generation efforts as key drivers of productivity and ease of living.

Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Sanjay Jaju, said the Government of India Calendar has evolved into a powerful instrument reflecting the nation’s priorities and values. He noted that the 2026 edition captures India’s consolidation through reform, inclusion and aspiration.

The Calendar features twelve thematic monthly sheets depicting major pillars of national progress. These include self-reliance, farmers’ welfare, women-led development, governance reforms, armed forces’ valour, health and wellbeing, dignity for the vulnerable, youth empowerment, infrastructure expansion, cultural continuity, inclusive development and India’s role as a trusted global partner.

Director General, Central Bureau of Communication, Kanchan Prasad, said the Calendar is published in 13 Indian languages, reflecting the government’s commitment to inclusivity and outreach across linguistic and cultural diversity.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, including Additional Secretary Prabhat and Director General, PIB, Anupama Bhatnagar. The dignitaries extended New Year greetings and expressed confidence that 2026 would mark another step towards a prosperous and inclusive India.
