Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shared an article highlighting the sweeping transformation in India’s textile ecosystem over the past eleven years. The Prime Minister drew attention to the sector’s expansion and modernization while responding to a post by Union Minister Giriraj Singh on X.
In his message, the Prime Minister noted that India’s textile value chain has strengthened consistently over the last decade, driven by improved infrastructure, larger markets, enhanced skilling, and broader inclusion. He said these developments have enabled job creation, advanced women’s empowerment, and boosted the sector’s global competitiveness. He also encouraged citizens to read the article shared by the Union Minister, describing it as an insightful explanation of the sector’s evolution.
Giriraj Singh, in his post, said the textile sector has undergone a historic shift under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He wrote that the reforms of the past eleven years have empowered farmers, MSMEs, women entrepreneurs, and millions of workers across the value chain. The Minister added that the sector’s renewed strength reflects a combination of policy support, technological adoption, and expanded opportunities for those linked to textile production and allied industries.
