2025 | VB-G RAM G Act

PM Modi shares Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s article on VB-G RAM G Act 2025

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today shared an article by Union Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan on the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, calling it an enlightening and insightful perspective on one of the most significant developments in rural development.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “In this enlightening article, Union Minister Shri @ChouhanShivraj explains that the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025 treats income support, asset creation, agricultural stability and long-term rural productivity as a continuum rather than a trade-off,” the Prime Minister said.

The PMO’s social media post also noted that the Bill for the Act was preceded by extensive consultations with state governments, supported by technical workshops and multi-stakeholder discussions.

In the article, shared on X, Chouhan explained that the legislation treats income support, asset creation, agricultural stability and long-term rural productivity as complementary elements rather than competing priorities. He underlined that the Act is designed to create a sustainable rural economy by aligning support for long-term growth.

According to the minister, the legislation is rooted in the belief that reforms must translate into real opportunities for rural citizens, and that structural change is necessary to deliver outcomes at scale. “It is often said that change creates opportunity,” he said, asserting that the bill is intended to correct weaknesses he attributes to the earlier framework.

“Under the guise of MGNREGA, the UPA government delivered little to the people except widespread corruption. By introducing the VB G RAM G Bill, we have sought to rectify the serious lapses left behind by the Congress.”

Chouhan further stated that the confusion and misinformation now being spread by the Congress serve only one purpose, which is to conceal its own failures and past misjudgments.
