Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the closing ceremony of the Second WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on December 19, highlighting India’s growing leadership in shaping a global, science-based and people-centric traditional medicine ecosystem.

During the event, scheduled for 4:30 pm, the Prime Minister will launch the My Ayush Integrated Services Portal (MAISP), a comprehensive digital platform aimed at integrating services across the Ayush sector. He will also unveil the Ayush Mark, envisioned as a global benchmark to ensure quality, safety and standardisation of Ayush products and services.

The Prime Minister will release the World Health Organization’s technical report on training in Yoga and a book titled “From Roots to Global Reach: 11 Years of Transformation in Ayush”, documenting India’s efforts to mainstream traditional medicine through research, policy and global collaboration. A commemorative postal stamp on Ashwagandha will also be released, symbolising the growing international recognition of India’s traditional medicinal heritage.

At the ceremony, PM Modi will felicitate the recipients of the Prime Minister’s Awards for Outstanding Contribution to the Promotion and Development of Yoga for the years 2021 to 2025, recognising individuals and institutions for their sustained efforts in promoting Yoga globally.

The Prime Minister will also visit the Traditional Medicine Discovery Space, an exhibition showcasing the diversity, depth and contemporary relevance of traditional medicine systems from India and other parts of the world.

Jointly organised by the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Ayush, the summit is being held from December 17 to 19 under the theme “Restoring balance: The science and practice of health and well-being”. The three-day event has brought together global leaders, policymakers, scientists, practitioners, Indigenous knowledge holders and civil society representatives to deliberate on advancing equitable, sustainable and evidence-based health systems through traditional medicine.
