Devank Dalal steals the show with top bid at Kabaddi Champions League auction

The Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) auction delivered a day full of energy, ambition and bold calls, as franchises went all out to secure match-winners to build the strongest teams for the inaugural season of KCL.

Stealing the spotlight was Devank Dalal, who emerged as the highest-bid player of the auction, with Bhiwani Bulls showing immense faith in the experienced right raider by signing him for Rs. 19.2 lakhs. Dalal expressed his emotions and said “Being the highest bid is a special feeling, but for me it also brings responsibility. I’m grateful to Bhiwani Bulls for the trust they’ve shown, and I’m fully focused on giving my best on the mat and playing fearless kabaddi for the fans.”

Close behind was Ayan Lochab, whose explosive raiding ability earned him a Rs. 18.4 lakhs deal with Sonipat Stars, making him one of the most sought-after names of the evening. “This moment means a lot to me. Sonipat Stars believed in my abilities early, and that confidence motivates me to work even harder. I’m excited to contribute and grow with this team in the KCL.” said Ayan.

Jaideep Dahiya who led the bid for Faridabad Fighters at Rs. 17.4 lakhs quoted “I’ve always played kabaddi with passion and aggression, and I’m happy Faridabad Fighters value that approach. I’m looking forward to entertaining the fans and helping the team achieve something special this season.”,

Karnal Kings followed suit with a marquee pick of their own, roping in Sunil Malik for Rs. 14.2 lakhs. The player poured out his feelings by saying, “Karnal Kings backing me at the auction gives me immense confidence. I see this as a great opportunity to prove myself and make every match count for the team.”

Adding further excitement to the auction, Hisar Heroes invested heavily in attacking strength by signing Ashu Malik for Rs. 12.2 lakhs. “Representing Hisar Heroes is an honour. I’m thankful for the faith shown in me and can’t wait to step onto the mat, play positive kabaddi, and make the Hisar fans proud.” Said Malik.

Panipat Panthers snapped up dynamic all-rounder Ankit Jaglan for Rs. 9.8 lakhs the balance to their team strategy. The player showed his gratitude saying, “I’m grateful to Panipat Panthers for believing in me. I’m excited to contribute as an all-rounder and give my best for the team this season.” adding.

Gurugram Gurus and Rohtak Royals also showed confidence in proven performers, picking Neeraj Narwal and Vijay Malik for Rs. 9.6 lakhs and Rs. 9.4 lakhs respectively. Both Neeraj and Vijay were beaming with joy and showed their love for the sport hit a new high. Neeraj said “The trust shown by Gurugram Gurus motivates me to push harder. I’m looking forward to playing impactful kabaddi and helping the team succeed.” While Vijay added by saying, “Rohtak Royals backing me at the auction means a lot. I’m ready to take on the challenge and deliver strong performances for the team.”

With big names finding their new family and franchises backing their vision, the KCL auction set the tone for a fiercely competitive season ahead, one that promises high-octane action, emerging heroes and unforgettable kabaddi moments.
