India Energy Week 2026

India Energy Week 2026 to be held in Goa from January 27–30

India Energy Week (IEW) 2026 will be held in Goa from January 27 to 30, bringing together global ministers, CEOs, policymakers, financial institutions, academia and technology leaders to deliberate on energy security, investment and decarbonisation at a critical juncture for the global energy sector.

Organised under the patronage of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and jointly hosted by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) and dmg events, IEW 2026 will serve as the first major international energy gathering of the year. The event is expected to see participation from over 120 countries, reinforcing India Energy Week’s position as one of the world’s leading platforms for global energy dialogue.

As global energy systems grapple with rising demand, geopolitical uncertainty and accelerating climate commitments, IEW 2026 will provide a forum for cooperation on building resilient, affordable and sustainable energy systems. The previous edition witnessed participation from over 68,000 attendees, 570 exhibitors and more than 5,400 conference delegates across 100 sessions featuring over 540 global speakers. The 2026 edition is expected to expand further in scale and scope.

India Energy Week will also highlight India’s growing role in the global energy landscape. According to the International Energy Agency’s World Energy Outlook 2025, India is projected to account for more than 23 per cent of global incremental energy demand by 2050, the highest for any country. Against this backdrop, policymakers and industry leaders at IEW 2026 will deliberate on strategies to strengthen energy security while advancing the clean energy transition.

The event will showcase India’s reform-driven energy framework, including recent legislative and regulatory reforms under the Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Act, 2025 and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Rules, 2025. These reforms aim to strengthen the upstream ecosystem through time-bound approvals, long-term lease stability, infrastructure sharing mechanisms and enhanced investor safeguards.

Clean energy initiatives, including India’s ethanol blending programme, biofuels, green hydrogen and sustainable fuels, will be a major focus of discussions. The ethanol programme has delivered significant outcomes, including foreign exchange savings, emission reductions and increased income support for farmers, and is increasingly being cited as a global benchmark.

Discussions at IEW 2026 will also cover infrastructure expansion and consumer protection measures. India has significantly expanded fuel retail outlets, city gas distribution networks and natural gas pipelines over the past decade, while maintaining price stability for consumers despite global volatility in energy markets.

Over four days, IEW 2026 will feature ministerial roundtables, CEO dialogues, public-private sector interactions, technology showcases, exhibitions and media engagements. Dedicated sessions will focus on hydrogen economies, green finance, sustainable fuels, digital transformation and workforce development.
