PM Modi, HM Amit Shah extend greetings on Statehood Day of Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura

Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura are celebrating their Statehood Day on Wednesday. On the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm greetings to the people of the three northeastern states, praising their cultural richness, development journey and contributions to India’s growth.

Greeting the people of Tripura, the Prime Minister highlighted the state’s blend of tradition and modernity and its role in strengthening India’s growth trajectory.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Warm greetings to the people of Tripura on their Statehood Day. Tripura’s journey is marked by a remarkable blend of tradition and modernity.”

“The state has witnessed pioneering transformations in diverse fields, and its people are adding momentum to India’s growth trajectory. I pray that Tripura prospers significantly in the coming times,” the post read.

On the occasion of Manipur Statehood Day, the Prime Minister acknowledged the state’s contribution to national progress and praised its cultural and sporting spirit.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “On the occasion of Manipur Statehood Day, I extend my warm greetings to my sisters and brothers of the state. People from Manipur are enriching the progress of India. This state’s passion towards sports, culture and nature is noteworthy. May the state continue to move forward on the path of development in the times to come.”

Extending greetings to Meghalaya, the Prime Minister lauded the state’s cultural vibrancy and scenic beauty, while underlining its role in the country’s development.

In another post on X, PM Modi wrote, “I convey my heartfelt greetings to the people of Meghalaya on their Statehood Day. The people of Meghalaya have made strong contributions to the development of our nation. The state’s cultural vibrancy and scenic beauty are widely admired. May Meghalaya keep scaling new heights of development in the future.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended Statehood Day greetings to the people of Tripura, Manipur and Meghalaya, highlighting their development and cultural significance.

In a post on X, Shah wrote, “Greetings to our sisters and brothers of Tripura on Statehood Day. Touching new heights in development, Tripura has today established itself as a proud contributor to India’s growth.”

“May CM @DrManikSaha2Ji continue to steer ahead, fulfilling people’s aspirations under the leadership of Modi Ji,” the post added.

Describing Manipur as a state rich in vibrant culture and talented people, the Home Minister said it has always been a matter of pride for the nation and expressed hope that the state would scale new heights of progress in the coming times.

Calling Meghalaya a hub of rich biodiversity and a confluence of cultures and traditions, Shah said the state strongly reinforces the spirit of India and expressed hope that it would achieve new milestones in development.

BJP MP Sambit Patra also extended greetings to the people of Tripura, praising the state’s balanced development and cultural heritage.

In a post on X, Patra wrote, “Best wishes to the people of Tripura on their Statehood Day. Tripura beautifully blends its rich traditions with modern progress. The state has seen transformative changes across sectors, and its people continue to strengthen India’s growth journey. May Tripura move ahead with greater prosperity and progress in the years to come.”

Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura were granted statehood on January 21, 1972, following the enactment of the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act, 1971. The Act reorganised the northeastern region, granting statehood to Manipur and Tripura, while Meghalaya was carved out of Assam owing to its distinct geographical and cultural identity.

The three states continue to play a significant role in strengthening India’s cultural diversity, strategic importance and development journey.
