PM Modi praises President Murmu’s address at start of Budget Session, calls it roadmap for Viksit Bharat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday praised President Droupadi Murmu’s address to the joint sitting of Parliament at the commencement of the Budget Session, describing it as inspiring, comprehensive and forward-looking.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said the President’s address holds special importance in India’s parliamentary tradition as it outlines the policy direction and collective resolve that guide the nation’s development in the months ahead.

PM Modi noted that the address reflected India’s remarkable development journey in recent years while also providing a clear roadmap for the future. He said the emphasis on building a Viksit Bharat was well articulated and echoed the shared national aspiration of creating a strong and self-reliant India.

“The address was comprehensive and insightful. It reflected India’s remarkable development journey in recent times while showing a clear direction for the future,” the Prime Minister said.

Highlighting key themes, PM Modi said the President’s speech covered a wide range of issues, including sustained efforts for farmers, youth, the poor and the downtrodden. He added that it reaffirmed the government’s collective commitment to accelerating reforms, promoting innovation and strengthening good governance.

The Prime Minister also underlined that the address reinforced the resolve to further “speed up the Reform Express,” signalling continuity and momentum in the government’s reform agenda.

The Budget Session, which began with the President’s address to both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, marks a crucial phase in the parliamentary calendar, setting the tone for legislative business and economic policymaking in the period ahead.
