Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Ahmedabad on January 12.
Merz will be on his first official visit to India from January 12 to 13 at the invitation of PM Modi. The visit is expected to further deepen the India-Germany Strategic Partnership, which recently completed 25 years.
As part of the programme in Gujarat, the two leaders will visit the Sabarmati Ashram at around 9:30 am on January 12. They will subsequently participate in the International Kite Festival at the Sabarmati Riverfront at around 10 am. Bilateral engagements between the two leaders are scheduled to begin from 11:15 am at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.
During their talks, PM Modi and Merz will review the progress achieved under the India-Germany Strategic Partnership and explore ways to further intensify cooperation across key sectors. These include trade and investment, technology, education, skilling and mobility, as well as collaboration in defence and security, science, innovation and research, green and sustainable development, and people-to-people exchanges.
The two leaders will also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest and are expected to engage with business and industry leaders from both countries.
