PM Modi to visit Rajkot on January 11, inaugurate Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for Kutch and Saurashtra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rajkot on January 11 to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Kutch and Saurashtra region, an event aimed at boosting investment and accelerating industrial growth in western Gujarat.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Modi will inaugurate a trade show at the conference at around 1:30 pm. This will be followed by the formal inauguration of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference at around 2 pm at Marwadi University, where he will also address the gathering.

During the event, PM Modi will announce the development of 14 greenfield smart Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation Limited (GIDC) estates and inaugurate the medical device park of GIDC at Rajkot, marking a significant step towards strengthening the state’s industrial infrastructure.

The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for Kutch and Saurashtra will be held from January 11 to 12, covering 12 districts across the two regions. Dedicated exclusively to regional development, the conference aims to provide fresh momentum to investment and industrial expansion in western Gujarat. Key focus sectors include ceramics, engineering, ports and logistics, fisheries, petrochemicals, agro and food processing, minerals, green energy, skill development, startups, MSMEs, tourism and culture, among others.

Japan, South Korea, Rwanda and Ukraine will participate as partner countries, reflecting the conference’s emphasis on enhancing global engagement and attracting international investment.

To expand the reach of the Vibrant Gujarat model, the state government is organising four Regional Conferences across Gujarat. The first edition, for the North Gujarat region, was held in Mehsana in October 2025. Following the current Kutch and Saurashtra conference, similar events are scheduled for South Gujarat in Surat on April 9-10, and for Central Gujarat in Vadodara on June 10-11.

Aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 and building on the legacy of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, the Regional Conferences aim to promote region-specific industrial development, attract investments across diverse sectors, and strengthen decentralised growth. The outcomes and achievements of these conferences will be showcased at the next Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, scheduled to be held in January 2027.
