Rajasthan hosts Regional AI Impact Conference, launches programme to train one million youth in AI skills

Rajasthan on Tuesday hosted the Regional AI Impact Conference, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, startups and academia to deliberate on the role of Artificial Intelligence in governance, infrastructure, innovation and workforce development.

The conference, held as a precursor to the India AI Impact Summit scheduled from February 15 to 20, 2026, underscored Centre–State collaboration in advancing India’s vision for inclusive and responsible AI.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw (who attended virtually), Minister of State for Electronics and IT Jitin Prasada and Rajasthan IT and Communication Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore were among those present, along with senior officials from the Centre and the state government.

Addressing the gathering, Ashwini Vaishnaw said artificial intelligence is set to bring transformation on a scale comparable to the industrial revolution, electricity and the internet. He said a programme has been launched to train one million young people in AI skills, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of democratising technology and ensuring AI-driven intelligence reaches every citizen, household and enterprise.

Jitin Prasada said the government has committed ₹10,000 crore under the India AI Mission to deploy AI across sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, education and the environment, with the aim of improving ease of living, boosting productivity and ensuring responsible and inclusive adoption of AI.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said Rajasthan is moving beyond e-governance towards becoming a leader in artificial intelligence and machine learning. He said the newly introduced AI and ML policy will help make governance more transparent, accountable and citizen-centric while driving innovation-led economic growth.

Several key initiatives were announced during the conference, including the launch of the national AI literacy programme “YUVA AI for All”, aimed at building foundational AI awareness among students and youth across the country. The Rajasthan AI and ML Policy 2026 was also launched, along with the state’s AI portal.

Other initiatives included the iStart Learning Management System to support skill development and entrepreneurship, the Rajasthan AVGC-XR Portal to strengthen the animation, VFX, gaming and extended reality ecosystem, and the unveiling of an AI-themed video outlining India’s and Rajasthan’s AI vision.

The event also witnessed the signing of memoranda of understanding with Google, IIT Delhi, National Law University Jodhpur and the Skill Development Network to promote AI research, skilling, ethical frameworks and innovation ecosystems.

A high-level strategic discussion involving senior officials from the IndiaAI Mission and industry leaders focused on democratising AI infrastructure, strengthening public-private partnerships and advancing responsible and trusted AI.

The Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Conference marked a key regional milestone ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, reinforcing India’s commitment to leveraging artificial intelligence for public good, inclusive growth and sustainable development.
