SAIL secures ‘Great Place to Work’ certification for third consecutive year

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), India’s largest public sector steel producer and a Maharatna PSU, has been awarded the prestigious ‘Great Place to Work’ certification for the period February 2026 to February 2027, marking the third consecutive year the company has received the recognition.

The certification follows a comprehensive, company-wide assessment conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute, India, a global authority on workplace culture. The evaluation was based on employee feedback collected through an extensive survey that measures trust, workplace experience, and organizational culture.

According to the Steel Ministry, SAIL recorded a significant improvement in its TRUST INDEX score, which reflects the percentage of employees who provided positive responses during the assessment. The rising score underscores the growing confidence of employees in the organization’s leadership, policies, and work environment.

Trust Index recognises organizations for delivering consistently high-quality employee experiences through a rigorous and transparent evaluation process. SAIL’s continued inclusion reflects its sustained focus on building a contemporary, agile, and people-centric workplace culture aligned with both professional and personal growth.

The company has introduced several progressive human resource initiatives in recent years. Among them is SAIL DARPAN, a performance management framework designed to promote transparency, objectivity, and alignment of individual goals with organizational priorities, while empowering employees to take ownership of their career development.

SAIL has also expanded learning and development opportunities for its executives by enabling domain-change options through specialised training programmes. These initiatives are being implemented under Memorandums of Understanding with leading management institutions, including the Indian Institutes of Management at Kozhikode, Bangalore, Jammu, Raipur, and Ranchi, as well as premier institutes such as XLRI and the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), with a focus on marketing and human resources.

Commenting on the achievement, SAIL Chairman and Managing Director Amarendu Prakash said the recognition was a testament to the organisation’s people-first culture. “Securing the ‘Great Place to Work’ certification for the third consecutive year is a proud moment for all of us at SAIL. This recognition reflects the trust our employees place in the organisation and the culture we are collectively building,” he said.
