The Udyog Bhawan Metro Station in the national capital has been renamed ‘Seva Teerth’, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced on Saturday.
The decision comes a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the new Prime Minister’s Office complex, named ‘Seva Teerth’, on Kartavya Path in central Delhi.
Announcing the renaming during a public address, Khattar said the move reflects a shift in administrative identity and aligns with the government’s evolving governance vision. He noted that renaming key public spaces is part of an effort to align institutional identities with the ethos of service and duty symbolised by ‘Seva Teerth’.
The change will come into effect after completion of the necessary administrative formalities and coordination with the concerned authorities.
The station, located on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation network, lies in the heart of the capital’s administrative hub. Given its strategic location, the renaming carries both logistical and symbolic significance. It serves several key government offices and is situated near major ministries and official buildings. Its proximity to Lok Kalyan Marg Metro Station makes it an important transit point for government officials, employees and visitors.
