India-US trade deal to boost MSMEs, job opportunities: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said the India-US trade agreement will significantly boost micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), enhance the global competitiveness of small industries, and create new employment opportunities across the country.

In a post on X, Shah said the agreement between the two nations would strengthen India’s MSME sector by securing new supply chains and improving investment and credit flow.

“India-US trade deal will give new strength to India’s MSMEs. This will boost the global competitiveness of small industries, increase employment, secure a place in new supply chains, and enhance investment and credit flow. Gratitude to PM Modi for this initiative that directly benefits the country’s small entrepreneurs,” said the Home Minister.

In a separate post, Shah congratulated PM Modi for securing the agreement, describing it as a milestone that would accelerate economic growth and help realise the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

“Today, at the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting on the historic India-US trade deal, all MPs congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This agreement will open new doors of opportunity for every Indian. It will give fresh momentum to our economy, boost employment, and prove to be a major step towards making India a leader in every sector by 2047,” he said.

The India-US trade agreement comes within a week of India signing a landmark trade deal with the European Union, underscoring the government’s push to deepen global economic partnerships.

PM Modi on Monday said he had a “wonderful” conversation with US President Donald Trump and expressed delight over the reduction of tariffs on Indian goods.

“Wonderful to speak with my dear friend President Trump today. Delighted that Made in India products will now have a reduced tariff of 18 per cent. Big thanks to President Trump on behalf of the 1.4 billion people of India for this wonderful announcement,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X.

PM Modi added that cooperation between two of the world’s largest democracies and economies benefits their people and unlocks immense opportunities for mutually beneficial growth. He also said President Trump’s leadership is vital for global peace, stability, and prosperity, and expressed India’s readiness to work closely with the United States to take the bilateral partnership to unprecedented heights.
