PLASTINDIA 2026 Begins in Delhi, Highlights Manufacturing Scale and Sustainability

PLASTINDIA 2026, one of the world’s largest plastics exhibitions, will open on Thursday at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, bringing together global industry leaders as India positions plastics manufacturing as a key driver of industrial growth and employment.

The six-day event, which runs until February 10, is being organised with the support of the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

Held under the theme “Bharat Next,” the exhibition reflects the government’s focus on manufacturing-led growth and self-reliance. The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers said the event “aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat and focuses on building a self-reliant industrial base to drive manufacturing-led growth and large-scale employment.”

According to the ministry, more than 2,000 international exhibitors are participating in PLASTINDIA 2026, showcasing advances in plastics machinery, raw materials, and circular economy solutions. The exhibition highlights India’s strengths across men, material, machines, and markets, with discussions structured around the themes of trade, technology, talent, tradition, and tourism.

PLASTINDIA 2026 is being organised as a zero-waste exhibition, with all solid waste generated at the venue to be segregated, recycled, and reused, ensuring no landfill disposal. Dedicated zones for start-ups, innovators, and youth will present sustainable plastic solutions, while an on-site museum will showcase the role of plastics across key sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, water management, and mobility.

The exhibition comes at a time when India’s plastics industry is valued at an estimated ₹3–3.5 lakh crore and continues to play a critical role in infrastructure development, consumer goods manufacturing, and global supply chains.
