PM Modi launches nationwide HPV drive, unveils Rs. 17,000 crore projects in Ajmer

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a nationwide Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign and inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth approximately ₹17,000 crore in Ajmer.

Addressing a public gathering, the Prime Minister said the initiatives span key sectors including roads, electricity, water supply, health and education, and are aimed at enhancing public convenience and generating employment opportunities for youth in Rajasthan.

The HPV vaccination campaign, launched from Ajmer, is targeted at preventing cervical cancer among girls aged 14 years and above. Describing it as a step towards empowering women, the Prime Minister said strengthening women’s health remains central to the government’s approach to public welfare.

During the event, appointment letters were distributed to more than 21,000 newly selected candidates in various departments, marking an employment outreach under the state government’s recruitment drive.

Referring to the completion of two years of the BJP government in Rajasthan, the Prime Minister said the state is progressing on a new development path under a “double-engine” framework.

On infrastructure, he highlighted improvements in connectivity through road, rail and industrial corridor projects, including developments linked to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor. He said enhanced infrastructure would support tourism, trade and local employment in regions such as Ajmer and Pushkar.

The Prime Minister also referred to irrigation and river-linking initiatives, including the modified Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal and Yamuna-Rajasthan link projects, stating that they would benefit farmers in districts such as Jhalawar, Baran, Kota and Bundi.

In the renewable energy sector, he underlined Rajasthan’s solar potential and spoke about the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, under which financial assistance is being provided for rooftop solar installations. According to official data shared during the event, over 1.25 lakh families in Rajasthan have availed the scheme.

The Prime Minister also paid tribute to the cultural heritage of Ajmer and acknowledged the legacy of Major Dalpat Singh, recalling his valour during the liberation of Haifa.

The visit combined public health outreach, infrastructure expansion, irrigation initiatives and employment measures, marking a broad development push in Rajasthan.
