Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended birthday greetings to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, praising his efforts towards the state’s development and his commitment to fulfilling the vision of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray and late leader Anand Dighe.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Birthday wishes to Shri Eknath Shinde Ji. He is working tirelessly towards furthering Maharashtra’s development and realising the dreams of Pujya Balasaheb Thackeray and Dharamveer Anand Dighe. Praying for his long life and good health.”
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also conveyed his greetings, wishing Shinde good health and a long life.
Several senior leaders joined in extending wishes. Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded Shinde’s work for public welfare and development in Maharashtra, while Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described him as a popular leader and prayed for his well-being.
On the occasion of Shinde’s birthday, Deputy Chairperson of the Maharashtra Legislative Council Neelam Gorhe organised a cloth donation drive for new mothers and newborns at Mumbai’s Sir J.J. Hospital. Gorhe said the initiative reflected social responsibility and compassion, adding that proposals submitted by the hospital administration would be followed up at the government level. She also said efforts would be made towards renovating hospital wards.
