Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Union ministers on Friday extended greetings to the people of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh on the occasion of their Statehood Days, lauding the states for their cultural heritage, natural beauty, and contributions to the nation’s development.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister highlighted the unique identity and strengths of both states.
Greeting Mizoram, PM Modi said the state is widely known for its striking natural beauty and enduring cultural traditions. He noted that the strong community spirit and gracious nature of its people reflect values of kindness and compassion. The Prime Minister said the rich Mizo heritage, expressed through traditions and music, is deeply inspiring, and expressed hope that the state would continue progressing and achieve new milestones in the coming years.
Extending wishes to Arunachal Pradesh, the Prime Minister said the state is blessed with majestic landscapes and extraordinary cultural diversity, which together reflect harmony between tradition and nature. He added that the industrious and spirited people of the state play a vital role in strengthening national progress, while its diverse tribal ethos adds richness to India’s cultural fabric. He expressed confidence that Arunachal Pradesh would continue to scale new heights of development.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his greetings. In his message for Arunachal Pradesh, he prayed for the state’s continued progress while preserving its rich cultural heritage and natural endowments. For Mizoram, he wished the people peace, progress, and prosperity.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also extended greetings on the occasion. In his message for Arunachal Pradesh, he recalled the region’s journey from NEFA to Union Territory in 1972 and attaining statehood in 1987, describing it as a reflection of resilience and determination. He expressed hope that the state would continue moving forward with unity and success.
For Mizoram, Rijiju praised the state’s vibrant culture, unity, and strength, and wished for continued progress with harmony and prosperity.
The messages from national leaders underscored the cultural richness, natural landscapes, and the significant role played by the northeastern states and their people in India’s overall development. Leaders expressed optimism for sustained growth, harmony, and prosperity in both Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.
