Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended greetings to the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on the occasion of Ugadi, marking the Telugu New Year.
Sharing his message in Telugu on X, the Prime Minister described Ugadi as a festival deeply rooted in tradition that also symbolises new beginnings and renewed energy. He expressed hope that the coming year would bring happiness, success and good health to all.
“Ugadi marks the start of a new year, and I pray that the coming year is filled with happiness, success and wonderful health. May this year inspire everyone to pursue their aspirations with sincerity and contribute positively to society,” he said.
Meanwhile, leaders in both states also conveyed their greetings on the occasion, which is being observed this year as ‘Prabhava Nama’.
Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla extended his wishes to Telugu-speaking people across the world, expressing hope that the New Year would usher in prosperity and well-being.
He described Ugadi as a festival of joy and hope, encouraging people to embrace its spirit – symbolised by the diverse flavours of traditional Ugadi Pachchadi – and face life’s challenges with optimism.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy also greeted the people of the state, wishing them prosperity and good fortune. He expressed hope for timely rains, improved agricultural output and overall well-being of farmers.
The Chief Minister urged citizens to celebrate the festival with enthusiasm while preserving and enriching the state’s cultural traditions.
