Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on March 31, where he will inaugurate major cultural and industrial projects and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹20,000 crore across multiple sectors.
The Prime Minister’s visit will begin in Gandhinagar at around 10 AM, where he will inaugurate the Samrat Samprati Museum at Koba Tirth on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. Named after Samrat Samprati, a revered figure in Jain tradition, the museum showcases the rich historical, cultural, and spiritual legacy of Jainism.
Located within the Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra campus, the museum features seven thematic wings and houses over 2,000 rare artefacts, including ancient manuscripts, stone and metal idols, miniature paintings, silver chariots, coins, and traditional Jain relics. Designed with modern digital and audio-visual elements, it offers visitors a chronological understanding of the evolution and cultural impact of Jainism.
At around 12:45 PM, PM Modi will travel to Sanand near Ahmedabad to inaugurate the Kaynes Semicon Plant, marking a significant milestone in India’s semiconductor journey. The facility will commence commercial production of advanced Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs), critical for automotive and industrial applications. Each module will consist of 17 chips and will be supplied to Alpha and Omega Semiconductor.
Once fully operational, the plant is expected to produce up to 6.33 million units per day. It will be India’s second semiconductor facility to begin production under the India Semiconductor Mission, following Micron Technology. The plant also represents India’s second OSAT/ATMP unit and marks the entry of an Indian Electronics Manufacturing Services player into semiconductor manufacturing, strengthening domestic chip packaging capabilities and advancing self-reliance in high-technology sectors.
Later in the day, the Prime Minister will visit Vav-Tharad, where he will lay the foundation stone, inaugurate, and dedicate to the nation a wide range of infrastructure and development projects spanning power, railways, road transport, health, urban development, tribal welfare, and rural development.
Among the key projects, PM Modi will inaugurate the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, built at a cost of over ₹5,100 crore. The access-controlled highway is expected to boost connectivity and support industrial growth in the Dholera Special Investment Region.
In road infrastructure, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the 4-lane Idar-Badoli bypass and the upgradation of the Dholavira–Mauvana–Vauva–Santalpur section of NH-754K into a two-lane paved shoulder road, improving connectivity to key regions and tourism destinations such as Dholavira. He will also lay the foundation stone for a flyover at Bhaijipura Junction on the Gandhinagar-Koba-Airport Road and inaugurate the flyover bridge at PDPU Junction on the Gandhinagar-Koba-Arodram Road. These projects aim to ease congestion and ensure smoother traffic flow on one of the region’s busiest corridors.
In the power sector, PM Modi will inaugurate the Khavda Pooling Station-2 and associated transmission systems for evacuating 4.5 GW of renewable energy, with a combined investment of around ₹3,650 crore, strengthening transmission capacity and renewable energy integration.
Railway projects include the dedication of the 28-km Kanalus–Jamnagar doubling project, part of the larger 111.20-km Rajkot-Kanalus doubling, and the quadrupling of the 10.69-km Gandhidham-Adipur section. These upgrades are expected to enhance rail capacity, reduce congestion, and improve freight and passenger movement. He will also inaugurate the 54.83-km Himmatnagar-Khedbrahma gauge conversion project and flag off a new train service between Khedbrahma, Himmatnagar, and Asarwa.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 44 urban development projects worth around ₹5,300 crore aimed at improving urban infrastructure and quality of life across Gujarat. In the health sector, he will inaugurate an 858-bed Rain Basera at Civil Hospital in Asarwa, Ahmedabad, along with a similar facility at Gandhinagar Civil Hospital and GMERS Medical College.
Tourism projects to be inaugurated include a light and sound show at Rani ki Vav and a water screen projection show at Sharmishtha Lake in Vadnagar. PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for tourism infrastructure projects at Balaram Mahadev and Vishweshwar Mahadev in Banaskantha district.
In the water sector, two major pipeline projects—the Kasara-Dantiwada Pipeline in Banaskantha and the Dindrol-Mukteshwar Pipeline across Patan and Banaskantha – worth around ₹1,780 crore will be dedicated to the nation. Additionally, the foundation stone for a water supply scheme for Ambaji and surrounding rural areas will be laid, benefiting around 1.5 lakh people across 34 villages.
