Ram Navami: PM Modi witnesses ‘Surya Tilak’ of Ram Lalla

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday virtually witnessed the sacred ‘Surya Tilak’ ceremony of Ram Lalla at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on the occasion of Ram Navami.

“Feeling blessed to have witnessed the Surya Tilak that took place at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, Ayodhya,” PM Modi said in a post on WhatsApp.

Sacred ‘Surya Tilak’ Illuminates Ram Lalla

The Surya Tilak – a unique celestial phenomenon – took place precisely at noon, when a beam of sunlight was directed onto the forehead of Ram Lalla’s idol, forming a radiant tilak. Priests performed special prayers during the event, which drew large numbers of devotees to the temple.

The ceremony has become a major spiritual attraction, symbolising divine blessings and precision alignment of traditional knowledge and modern technology.

Ram Navami Celebrated with Devotion Across India

Ram Navami marks the birth of Lord Ram, revered as an embodiment of righteousness, truth, and duty in Hindu tradition. The festival concludes the nine-day Chaitra Navratri, during which devotees observe fasting, prayer, and spiritual practices.

In his message, PM Modi extended greetings to citizens and said the ideals of Lord Ram continue to inspire humanity.

“From the life of Maryada Purushottam, filled with sacrifice, austerity, and restraint, we draw inspiration to face every situation with strength. His ideals will guide humanity for eternity,” he said, expressing hope for a “Viksit” and “Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”

Tight Security as Devotees Throng Ayodhya

Heavy security arrangements were put in place in Ayodhya as large crowds gathered to witness the ceremony and offer prayers. Authorities deployed drones and an extensive CCTV network to ensure smooth crowd management and safety.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also extended greetings to the people, describing Ram Navami as an occasion that brings spiritual fulfilment, prosperity, and well-being.

He emphasised that Lord Ram remains an enduring symbol of India’s cultural and spiritual ethos.
