Maruti Suzuki clocks record production of 23.4 lakh units in FY26

Maruti Suzuki India Limited on Thursday reported its highest-ever annual production of over 23.4 lakh units in FY2025–26, becoming the only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in the country to achieve such a milestone in passenger vehicle production.

The company also said it is the only manufacturing unit within Suzuki Motor Corporation’s global network to reach this landmark output.

Maruti Suzuki aims to scale up its annual production capacity to around 40 lakh units in the coming years.

“This is a proud moment for us, as very few companies globally have achieved such large-scale manufacturing volumes in a single country. At Maruti Suzuki, we have consistently focused on offering products and technologies that meet the evolving needs of our customers,” said Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of the company.

The company said its popular models — Dzire, Fronx, Swift, Ertiga and Baleno — each recorded production of over two lakh units during the year.

Takeuchi attributed the achievement to strong collaboration across its ecosystem, including employees, vendors and dealer partners, as well as supportive policy measures that helped sustain demand.

Maruti Suzuki currently operates four manufacturing facilities — Gurugram, Manesar and Kharkhoda in Haryana, and Hansalpur in Gujarat — with a combined installed annual capacity of around 24 lakh units.

As part of its expansion strategy, the company identified land in March 2026 for its fifth manufacturing facility at Khoraj Industrial Estate in Sanand, Gujarat. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to have an annual production capacity of 10 lakh units.
