Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended birthday greetings to Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, praising his leadership and role in advancing the state’s development across multiple sectors.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Birthday greetings to Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant Ji. He is at the forefront of furthering Goa’s development across diverse sectors. May he be blessed with a long and healthy life.”
Several other leaders also conveyed their wishes.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also greeted the Goa Chief Minister, wishing him good health and continued service to the public.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis extended “heartiest birthday greetings,” wishing Sawant a long life and good health. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed hope that Goa would continue to progress steadily under Sawant’s leadership.
Responding to the wishes, Sawant thanked PM Modi for his guidance and leadership, stating that it continues to inspire Goa’s development journey. He reiterated his government’s commitment to contributing to the vision of a “Viksit Goa, Viksit Bharat.” He also expressed gratitude to Amit Shah, noting that his support has been instrumental in the state’s development efforts.
Born in 1973, Pramod Sawant began his political journey in 2008. He was elected from the Sanquelim constituency in 2012 and re-elected in 2017. He served as Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly before taking over as Chief Minister in 2019 following the demise of Manohar Parrikar. Sawant was sworn in as Goa’s 13th Chief Minister and secured a second consecutive term after leading the Bharatiya Janata Party to victory in the 2022 Assembly elections.
Notably, Sawant shares his birthday with actor Varun Dhawan and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.
