President Droupadi Murmu will visit Odisha today. During her day-long visit, she will inaugurate several key public infrastructure and cultural projects in Rourkela.
According to the President’s Secretariat, President Murmu will inaugurate a Planetarium and Science Centre, and the Nirmal Munda Parivesh Path at a public function. She will also inaugurate a tribal museum and an Integrated Command and Control Centre in the city.
Extensive security arrangements have been put in place across all venues in view of the President’s visit. Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with other senior dignitaries, are expected to be present and interact with the President during the programme.
President Murmu had earlier visited her home state in February on a six-day tour, during which she travelled across multiple districts, including Jajpur, Balasore, Puri, and Mayurbhanj. She offered prayers at the historic Biraja Temple and Shree Jagannath Temple, attended the convocation ceremony at Fakir Mohan University, and participated in programmes in her home district.
She also visited the Simlipal Wildlife Sanctuary, where she interacted with women and youth from tribal communities, highlighting the region’s rich biodiversity and cultural heritage.
