Amit Shah inaugurates Million Minds Tech Park in Ahmedabad, says Gujarat to lead in technology sector

Amit Shah on Sunday inaugurated the ‘Million Minds Tech Park’ and the ‘Ganesh Real Estate Management Institute’ in Ahmedabad, saying Gujarat is poised to lead the country in technology and services just as it has in development and industry.

Speaking at the event in Gandhinagar, Shah said the projects would support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming Gujarat from a manufacturing-driven state into a global hub for services and technology.

He said development is “embedded in the DNA of Gujaratis” and noted that the new initiatives would create fresh momentum for sectors such as Artificial Intelligence, robotics and semiconductors.

According to Shah, the ‘Million Minds Tech Park’ is expected to generate thousands of high-skilled jobs and promote research, innovation and technological advancement. He said the project would help build a world-class technology ecosystem in Gujarat.

Shah also said the ‘Ganesh Real Estate Management Institute’ would help modernise and professionalise the real estate sector by preparing skilled manpower through urban planning, technology-oriented courses and globally aligned training programmes.

The Union Minister said Gujarat is giving a new direction to the country in technology, industry and infrastructure development, adding that specialised institutions and technology-driven projects would strengthen the state’s position in the global economy.

The tech city project, spread across nearly 65 acres in the Ahmedabad-GIFT City-Gandhinagar growth corridor near Vaishnodevi Circle, will include Grade-A office spaces, residential units, retail spaces and hospitality infrastructure. The project is expected to create more than 70,000 high-skilled employment opportunities.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said Gujarat has entered a new phase of growth driven by IT, innovation and a technology-based economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and the guidance of Amit Shah.

Patel said the ‘Million Minds Tech Park’ would act as a catalyst for Gujarat’s technology-led growth and described it as more than a real estate project, calling it a centre for generating skilled employment and accelerating the digital economy.

He said sectors such as the digital economy, Artificial Intelligence, semiconductors, Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and knowledge-based services are shaping “Gujarat 2.0”. He added that the state’s IT and GCC policies, along with support from the Centre, are expected to drive rapid expansion in Gujarat’s technology sector.

The Chief Minister also said GIFT City is emerging as a global financial and technology hub, while the semiconductor ecosystem developing in Sanand and Dholera Special Investment Region would establish Gujarat as a semiconductor hub.

Patel further thanked the Prime Minister for approving the country’s first semi-high-speed rail project between Ahmedabad and Dholera, estimated to cost Rs 20,000 crore, saying the infrastructure would help attract investment from India and abroad.

He added that Ahmedabad’s metro network, riverfront, expressways and urban infrastructure, along with preparations linked to the Commonwealth Games, are helping position the city as a global urban centre.

During a panel discussion at the event, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said Gujarat is fully prepared for investors and industries from across the world and added that GIFT City is expected to become a hub for leading global companies in the coming years.
