Day of Trust in Democracy: PM Modi on BJP’s Bengal Push, NDA Victories Across States

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday lauded the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s strong performance in the West Bengal Assembly polls and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)’s victories in Assam and Puducherry, calling the day “historic” and “unprecedented.”

Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters after trends indicated a sweeping win for the party in West Bengal and strong performances elsewhere, Modi said the results reflected public trust in the politics of performance.

“Today is a historic day. It is unprecedented. When years of effort translate into success, the joy seen on the faces of people is the same joy I see among BJP workers across the country,” he said.

“As a party worker, I share the happiness of every BJP worker. This day marks a bright future for the country. It reflects trust in India’s democracy, trust in the politics of performance, and trust in the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’,” he added.

The Prime Minister congratulated party workers for their efforts and noted that these were the first Assembly elections under BJP president Nitin Nabin.

“I bow to the people of Bengal, Assam, Puducherry, as well as those of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. I also congratulate millions of BJP workers who have once again delivered for the party,” he said.

Modi also highlighted the results of by-elections held in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Nagaland and Tripura, where NDA candidates secured victories. He noted that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar also registered a landslide win.

Counting of votes was held for Assembly elections in Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, with the BJP also improving its performance in Kerala. (ANI)
