Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday hailed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s strong performance in the Haryana municipal elections, describing it as a reflection of the people’s unwavering faith in the BJP’s development agenda and the “double-engine government” model in the state.
The BJP registered emphatic victories in several civic bodies across Haryana, including municipal corporations in Ambala, Sonipat, and Panchkula, while also performing strongly in other urban local body polls.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “My deepest gratitude to my family members in the state for the spectacular victory of the BJP in the Haryana municipal elections!”
“This victory has once again made it clear that the people have unwavering faith in the development and good governance policies being pursued by the BJP-NDA government. This victory is also a symbol of the trust that the people of Haryana have in the state’s double-engine government,” he said.
“On this occasion, I wholeheartedly congratulate all those party workers who played a key role in this victory for the BJP,” added PM Modi.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini welcomed the results and said the mandate reflected public support for PM Modi’s leadership and the BJP’s welfare-oriented governance model.
“The people of Haryana have once again expressed their confidence in politics centred on development, good governance, and national interest,” Saini said.
He further said that the victory had infused the party with renewed energy and urged newly elected representatives to work in line with people’s expectations.
The BJP also recorded a major victory in the Rewari Municipal Council elections, where party candidate Vineeta Pippal won the chairperson’s post by a margin of more than 21,000 votes.
In Sonipat Municipal Corporation, the BJP secured a dominant victory by winning 17 out of 22 wards, while the Indian National Congress won five seats.
