Tata Electronics, ASML Sign MoU for Dholera Semiconductor Facility in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Tata Electronics and ASML aimed at strengthening India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.

The agreement will support the development and scaling of Tata Electronics’ upcoming semiconductor facility in Dholera, Gujarat.

Sharing details of the development on X, PM Modi said the partnership reflects growing cooperation between India and the Netherlands in futuristic sectors.

“Prime Minister Rob Jetten and I witnessed the signing of the MoU between Tata and ASML for advancing the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem in India,” the Prime Minister posted.

According to PM Modi, ASML will provide support for setting up and scaling operations at the semiconductor facility being developed by Tata Electronics in Dholera.

Highlighting the importance of the sector, the Prime Minister said India’s progress in semiconductors is creating major opportunities for the country’s youth.

“India’s strides in the world of semiconductors offers immense opportunities for the youth of our nation. This is a sector in which we will keep adding vigour in the times to come,” he said.

India has been actively pushing to strengthen domestic semiconductor manufacturing under its broader technology and self-reliance initiatives, with Gujarat emerging as a key hub for semiconductor and electronics investments.

The Tata-ASML collaboration is expected to further enhance India’s capabilities in semiconductor manufacturing and technology development.
