Delhi-NCR Likely to Get Relief from Severe Heat Next Week; Temperatures to Remain Below 40°C

Residents of the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) are likely to get relief from severe heat over the coming week, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting no heatwave or severe heat conditions in the region.

According to the IMD’s latest seven-day forecast, maximum temperatures are expected to remain at or below 40 degrees Celsius through the week, while intermittent rainfall, thunderstorms, cloud cover, and gusty winds are likely to provide respite from heat and humidity.

On June 25, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 39°C, with the minimum near 27°C. The sky is likely to remain partly cloudy, and thunderstorms may occur in isolated areas.

Weather activity is expected to intensify on June 26, when the maximum temperature is forecast at 38°C and the minimum at 28°C. Rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely. Similar conditions are expected on June 27, with temperatures ranging between 29°C and 39°C and intermittent rainfall forecast.

On June 28, the maximum temperature may touch 40°C, while the minimum is likely to remain around 29°C. Although rainfall activity is expected to be relatively limited, strong surface winds are forecast, which could help moderate daytime heat.

Rain and thunderstorms are likely to return on June 29, when temperatures are expected to range between 29°C and 39°C. Similar weather conditions are forecast for June 30, with the maximum temperature likely to remain around 38°C and the minimum near 28°C.

The IMD has not issued any weather warnings for Delhi-NCR for the coming days.

Meteorologists said that while afternoons may remain warm, mornings and evenings are expected to be comparatively pleasant. Cloud cover, periodic rainfall, and wind activity are likely to keep temperatures in check and prevent the development of heatwave conditions.

The expected change in weather is likely to bring relief to residents and could also prove beneficial for agriculture and the environment.
