Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said NITI Aayog can play an important role as a platform for collaboration among states, enabling them to exchange ideas and work together towards the vision of a developed India by 2047.
Chairing the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of cooperation, dialogue and sharing of best practices among states to accelerate the country’s development journey.
“Cooperation, dialogue and sharing should guide interactions among the States. NITI Aayog can play an important role as a platform for collaboration, enabling States to exchange ideas and work together towards the vision of Viksit Bharat,” PM Modi said.
Emphasising the spirit of cooperative federalism, he said the combined efforts of the Centre and states would be crucial in achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat.
“Guided by the spirit of cooperative federalism, we are working together to accelerate India’s development journey. The collective efforts of the Centre and States will play a pivotal role in realising our shared vision of Viksit Bharat,” he said.
The Prime Minister noted that despite a period of global uncertainty and instability, India continues to advance on its growth trajectory with confidence and determination.
Highlighting the opportunities arising from India’s growing engagement with global markets, PM Modi said the Free Trade Agreements signed with several countries are opening new avenues for growth and exports.
He said these agreements provide significant opportunities for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to expand their presence in international markets by improving competitiveness and adhering to global standards.
The Prime Minister also underscored the importance of harnessing India’s demographic dividend through investments in education, skilling and employment generation.
“India’s demographic dividend is a historic opportunity that we cannot afford to lose. Creating the right ecosystem for our youth through quality education, demand-driven skilling and employment opportunities must remain a priority,” he said.
“Empowered youth will be the driving force behind our journey towards Viksit Bharat,” the Prime Minister added.
PM Modi further highlighted the role of women in India’s development journey, describing women-led development as a key pillar of the Viksit Bharat vision.
“Women-led development is a cornerstone of the vision of Viksit Bharat. From farming and startups to science and innovation, Nari Shakti is contributing across domains,” he said.
