Piyush Goyal leads Indian business delegation to Greece to deepen trade, investment ties

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is leading a high-level Indian business delegation to Greece after concluding his engagements in the United Kingdom, with the visit aimed at expanding bilateral trade, investment and strategic economic cooperation between India and Greece.

Goyal wrapped up his UK visit by participating in the India–UK: Partners in Progress Business Plenary in London, where industry leaders from both countries backed the proposed Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), describing it as a key framework for strengthening trade and investment ties. The government said the UK and Greece engagements reflect India’s continued focus under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership on deepening global economic partnerships, promoting innovation-led growth and advancing trade diplomacy.

During the Greece visit, the delegation will take part in startup presentations and pitch sessions at The Athens Startup Business Incubator (THEA), aimed at fostering cross-border innovation and collaboration between Indian and Greek startups. The delegation will also hold roundtable discussions with business leaders at the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), covering sectors such as infrastructure, digitalisation, defence, food and agriculture to identify new opportunities for cooperation.

The programme also includes a high-level business interaction bringing together leading stakeholders from both countries to explore investment opportunities and commercial partnerships across priority sectors. In addition, the delegation will visit leading Greek enterprises to examine collaboration in advanced manufacturing and technology-driven industries. The visit will conclude with meetings involving key business and institutional stakeholders to strengthen industry partnerships and further expand bilateral trade linkages.
