Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with the Slovak Republic’s highest State honour, the “Order of the White Double Cross, First Class,” during a special ceremony hosted by Slovak President Peter Pellegrini on Monday.
The prestigious award was presented in recognition of PM Modi’s contribution to strengthening bilateral ties between India and Slovakia and advancing cooperation between the two nations.
Expressing his gratitude after receiving the honour, PM Modi thanked Slovak President Pellegrini, and its people for the distinguished recognition.
Accepting the award, the Prime Minister dedicated the honour to the 1.4 billion people of India and described it as a symbol of the enduring friendship between India and Slovakia.
“This honour belongs to the people of India and reflects the strong bonds of friendship that unite our two nations,” he said.
PM Modi further noted that the award was a testament to the warmth, trust, and mutual respect shared by the people of both countries. He expressed confidence that the recognition would inspire future generations in India and Slovakia to continue strengthening their partnership and deepening people-to-people ties.
