Prime Minister Narendra Modi held separate meetings with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Evian, reaffirming India’s commitment to strengthening ties with two of its key strategic partners in Asia.
Following his meeting with President Lee, PM Modi said in a post on X that he had a “very meaningful conversation” with the South Korean leader.
“I had a very meaningful conversation with Lee Jae-myung, President of the Republic of Korea, in Evian. Just two months ago, I welcomed President Lee in India. The two countries are closely cooperating not only in trade and commerce but also in various future high-tech fields,” the Prime Minister said.
The meeting focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, commerce and emerging technologies, reflecting the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.
In a separate engagement, Prime Minister Modi met Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and discussed ways to further strengthen the India-Japan partnership.
Sharing details of the interaction on X, PM Modi said, “I had a wonderful exchange of opinions with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. India and Japan will continue to deepen their cooperative relationship in a variety of fields, with trade and investment as priority areas.”
The two leaders reviewed progress in bilateral relations and reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation across key sectors, particularly trade, investment and economic collaboration.
